Review and Signing a DPA on StudentDPA for Vendors

For vendors on StudentDPA, efficiently addressing actionable tasks and signing Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) is crucial for maintaining partnerships with LEAs and ensuring compliance. When tasks require your attention, they'll appear in the 'Action Needed' section of the Agreements page. Here's a step-by-step guide to navigating these tasks and completing the DPA signing process through the wizard.

Step 1: Information

Start the Wizard: Click the 'Get Started' button next to any actionable task to launch the wizard.

Fill Out Contact Information: Enter or verify the pre-populated data for the app's address, city, state, zip, and the designated legal representative's first name, last name, title, email, phone, and mailing address. Ensure all fields are accurately completed.

Step 2: Data Collected

Specify Data Elements: Fill in the section detailing the data your app collects. Check the relevant boxes in the large table and provide additional information for special circumstances as needed.

Step 3: Security

Detail Security Measures: Indicate which data security frameworks your app implements by checking the appropriate boxes in the small table provided.

Step 4: Documents

Review Agreements: You'll be presented with a canvas to review and approve various documents critical for the DPA, including:

  • National Agreement: Review the National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA). Accept it as is, or in rare cases, make redline edits for legal review.
  • General Offer and State-Specific Addendums: These documents can only be accepted or rejected without alterations.
  • Accepting or Requesting Edits: For the National Agreement, use 'Accept or Reject Agreement' to finalize your stance. If edits are necessary, highlight the section to redline and submit for legal review. Cancel any redline requests if you change your mind.

Moving Forward: Upon accepting a document, the wizard automatically advances to the next for review. Remember, only the National Agreement can be redlined; the addendums are to be accepted or rejected as presented.

Step 5: Review and Signature

Preview DPA: After all documents are approved, click 'Review' to generate a full preview of the DPA with all included information.

E-sign the DPA: Proceed to the e-signature page, where you'll either type or draw your name to officially sign the agreement. Confirm the attestations and click 'Sign Agreement'.
